What is a Roadeo?

The Indiana Para transit ROADEO is an event that takes place annually, giving drivers from all around
the state the opportunity to compete and show off their skills. The ROADEO recognizes driver strengths
and promotes the importance of day-to-day public service and professionalism.

This year the annual Roadeo was held on April 16th at Ceraland Park in Columbus, IN. There were
fourteen (14) drivers from seven (7) different agencies that competed, and although it was cold and rainy
it was a great day. The winner of this years annual Roadeo was Kathy Lee from Columbus Transit, and
Joe Dean with ACCESS Johnson Co finished second. The National Roadeo is being held in Indianapolis,
IN on June 4 & 5 this year. The RTAP program has made available limited scholarship opportunities for
the National Roadeo. To take advantage of this opportunity please complete the required scholarship
application located at the bottom of the page and submit it to the RTAP offices by May 2nd for the
National Roadeo.
Congratulations to both Kathy Lee and Joe Dean, and good luck at Nationals!
